Shrewsbury is an attractive town and is easy to reach by train. London Midland operate direct services from Birmingham and for many people in the Midlands the cheapest available ticket may be West Midlands Day Ranger

If it was Saturday 17 November, BlakesCrewe and I could disappear in the afternoon to go to watch Shrewsbury v Crewe and then rejoin everyone after the match.
