Who was the best Time Lord villain? I've counted both the Master and Omega as single characters rather than by their various incarnations and although Rassilon is shown to be evil in the BF audios, I've chosen not to include him as 'The Five Doctors' never definetly confirmed whether he was a tyrant or not. Borusa however had clearly 'gone bad' by the end, so he gets in, though only his last incarnation. Characters like the Castellan from 'Invasion of Time' or Hedin from 'Arc of Infinity' were more in the way of supporting characters so I've not included them. _________________ Everything in life is only for now. |

Went for the Valeyard - a great creepy, verbose villain. _________________ Everything in life is only for now. |

Funnily enough some fans have suggested that the Monk is an earlier incarnation of the Master. Certainly his actions in The Kings Demons and Mark of the Rani are fairly consistent with what the Monk was up to in Time Meddler. Of course, it's harder to reconcile the fun loving Butterworth character withthe homicidal psycho of Deadly Assassin or Logopolis, but then look at the difference between say the 7th and 5th Doctors - or indeed any Doctor snd the Valeyard! _________________ Everything in life is only for now. |

I was going to put a seperate entry for each Master but (a) that would split the Master vote and (b) we've already had a best Master pole and Delgado won fairly easily. _________________ Everything in life is only for now. |

The Rani is terribly written but brilliantly acted - nice to see another renegade Time Lord, but one whose motivations are less gradiose than the Master's and less complex than the Doctor.

Definetly! I'd like to have seen the Rani in a script not written by Pip and Jane Baker. Kate O'Mara had a marvellous detatched, coldly humurous qaulity in the role. _________________ Everything in life is only for now. |
