So , what did you think of the animation then? and what other missing stories or episodes would you like to see done the same way? my choice would be `POWER OF THE DALEKS` -all six episodes are currently missing! |

It was a little distracting at times because I just wanted them to move a little more but it was easier than watching still photographs with sound. _________________ Louise and Simon's Blakes7 Fan Site

I've only watched the beginning of episode one so I've yet to form an opinion, but I'd agree with Simon as I've seen at least one recon and it wasn't particularly brilliant. _________________ "Now then, Butch Harry, tell us about Fulham..." |

It would be interesting to do an animation that was a total re-imaging of a miising or incomplete story. So say use the Celestial Toymaker soundtrack, but give it Tim Burton style visuals or have Marco Polo with huge deserts etc _________________ Everything in life is only for now. |

Have you ever read Lucarotti's nove;lisation of The Massacre? He hated the TV version and the book was based on his orginal scripts before they were drastically re-written. Worth reading for an alternate take on the story. _________________ Everything in life is only for now. |

Read that years ago , the novel contains more of THE DOCTOR who was absent from the original for at least two episodes as Hartnell was playing The Abbot of Amboise! |

Watched the whole story in one sitting this afternoon and I was very impressed by the animation for episodes one and four. The likenesses for Troughton and Vaughn were especially good. The differing shades used to re-create the textures of b/w TV were extremely effective. The result was two episodes that felt like less like 'filling in the gaps' and more like something that could be enjoyed on its owb merits
The story itself is a very strong one, albeit with a rather weak ending IMO. Vaughn and Packer make a good double act and Camfield's direction is typically strong - the cleaned up picture quality really shows off just how dramatic some of his shots were. The Doctor and the Brig spark off wonderfully well and it's a shame that they didn't have a few more adventures together (I still think their scenes in The Five Doctors are a joy)
Like 'Revenge', 'Earthshock' and 'Rise of the Cybermen'/'Age of Steel' this story re-invents the Cybermen and the threat they re-present (a terror of automation, mass production and uniformity appear to be the principle thing on the writers minds rather than spare part surgery) and of course it also set a template for the next two or three years worth of stories.
Oh and I was really pleased to see the Next Week - The Krotons caption at the end!
The Krotons should come out on DVD! Who's with me?

If you like the Krotons, perhaps I could take you on a location tour of the Malvern Hills sometime. There's several "watering holes" near the quarries they used! |

I've just seen ep 1 and I enjoyed it a lot. This is infinitely better than sitting through a recon and I hope they do it for more stories. _________________ "Blak" sheep of the B7 forum family! |

It's a shame she wasn't a companion in the Pertwee era. _________________ Everything in life is only for now. |
