I like Day better, it's more atmospheric.
I've never seen The Chase though so I'm quite tempted by that! _________________ Everything in life is only for now. |

Well, you can rule out Planet until the colourisation technology is good enough and cheaper, so 2012 for that one.
The Chase has rights problems with the clip of the vastly overrated scousers, besides which The Time Meddler is allegedly the Hartnell release for this year.
Which leaves Day, Death and Destiny. Frontier is NOT a Dalek story, despite a guest appearence at the end. You might as well say The Space Museum is a Dalek story because they're in the final cliff hanger and a cameo.
Personally, I'd like Destiny, because it's fun. Both of the other Pertwee Dalek stories are a bit ropey, although I'd say Death is probably the best one of his trio. I'd say that one is most likely because there's a studio recording reel for use as an extra.
Having said that, Destiny is probably the one they'll bring out, simply because I've tempted fate and used that as the first Who VHS release I've transferred to DVD. Next up: The Silurians as a two disc special. And I'll stick the trailer for The Ambassadors of Death on the end. _________________ "Now then, Butch Harry, tell us about Fulham..." |

I know what you mean, but I thought I should include it as technically they are the villains of the piece albeit operating backstage. I guess it's a bit like the way The War Games is famous for being a Time Lord story, even they don't really make their presence felt until episode ten.
Agree with you about Destiny, it's great story with a very B7 look. It's also the first Doctor Who story I ever saw so I'll always love it!! I remember recreating scenes from it with little toy blocks that I used to pretend where Daleks..ah, memories!
If Time Meddler is the Hartnell release for this year then this will be a very Time Lord intensive 2007 for DVD's. Which just adds to my suspicions about what series 3 is gonna bring!! _________________ Everything in life is only for now. |

Destiny is fun and funny. Lalla Ward did a great commentary for "Leisure Hive" so I'd be curious to hear what she has to say for her debut story (OK, not the first filmed, but the first aired.)
At the same time, of the list, I love "Planet" but "Chase" is my favorite. To hell with the lawyers, full speed ahead. _________________ "Well, they say it's a theoretical absurdity..." |

They realised "Chase" on video (though only in a limited edition box set with Remebrance) so I would not have thought there'd be any copyright issues. |

But as we found with Blake's 7, video & DVD copyright are two different things |

THE CHASE is a real mish mash of individual episodes - some good some appalling - but like most 60`s DW - VERY WATCHABLE! |

I went for "DAY OF THE DALEKS" best, of what is left of the stories still to come out on DVD. _________________ "Valentine" ( 'S Brother)

Ironically, the "MECHANOIDS" were supposed to return but, as they were so awful in the story, the idea was dropped.
"Enter - Enter - Zero - Zero - Stop!"
There was a single made voiced by, "DAVID GRAHAM" which felt more like a "GERRY ANDERSON" production. _________________ "Valentine" ( 'S Brother)

Think it was more to do with the fact they were too big and not very movable in a confined studio! |
